Vicky Ward is a #1 New York Times bestselling author, investigative journalist, podcaster, documentary host and producer, former CNN Senior Reporter, member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and Visiting Fellow at the University of Oxford. Her investigative reporting has an extensive range, including coverage of Wall St., Silicon Valley, real estate, the global art industry, politics, foreign affairs, constitutional law, as well as True Crime. In the latter, she tries to show how emerging populist trends may threaten the established order inside the corporate world and outside of it.
Her upcoming book, co-authored with James Patterson, due in 2027, is about the murder of Brian Thompson, the United Healthcare CEO. In it, she will endeavor to explain how the rising populist anti-capitalist mood of Gen-Z is a serious threat to corporations, especially the healthcare industry, which she will examine in depth.
Her most recent book, The Idaho Four: An American Tragedy (Little, Brown and Company), co-authored with James Patterson, was published on July 14, 2025, and became an instant #1 New York Times bestseller. In it, she endeavored to show how both COVID and the digital age have created a rage among disaffected young men, commonly referred to as Incel Culture.
Ward is also the host and co-producer of the 2023 Audible series Pipeline to Power: The 40-Year Plan to Capture the Supreme Court, about the Federalist Society and Yale Law School.
She is also the narrator and co-producer of the discovery+ docu-series Chasing Ghislaine, an investigative series on Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell. The podcast version of Chasing Ghislaine received a Signal Awards nomination for Best Exclusive Content + Experiences. Ward was the first journalist to write an in-depth profile of Jeffrey Epstein in a 2003 Vanity Fair article.
Her previous New York Times Bestselling books include Kushner, Inc: Greed. Power. Corruption. (St. Martin’s Press, 2019); The Liar’s Ball (Wiley, 2014), The Devil’s Casino (Wiley, 2010), which explores the collapse of Lehman Brothers.
