Andreas Kramvis has made his mark at Honeywell by turning around two large businesses in succession.
Stepping in as president of the failing Environmental and Combustion Controls (ECC) business, Andreas nearly doubled sales over six years while expanding margins, driving operational efficiencies and refilling the new product pipeline to transform his business into a technology leader.
Andreas was president and CEO of one of Honeywell’s four strategic business groups — Specialty Materials. While guiding Specialty Materials through the Great Recession, he fundamentally strengthened the business’s ability to run its plants, bring new products to market and execute on growth opportunities. Analysts now call Specialty Materials a star performer within Honeywell’s portfolio.
Success in business depends on continuous adaptation to events and circumstances, and Andreas’ leadership and management methodology has led the way.
The key to his success is a transformation program he developed that allows management to bootstrap a company and progressively put it on a strong footing and on a sound path — under the pressure of time and with no additional resources.
While Vice Chairman at Honeywell he was focused on enabling the global deployment of HOS Gold, advancing the Company’s software initiative through improved software development processes, and driving expansion in High Growth Regions. Andreas retired from that position on February 16, 2017.
Having developed and refined his methodology during his years of service to major corporations, he now offers it to others in his book: Transforming the Corporation: Running a Successful Business in the 21st Century
"By implementing the strategies and techniques in this book, companies will find that everything will improve — from the effectiveness in the marketplace, to the efficiency of international operations, to the way management runs the business and the way employees think about the business."
— From the Introduction
"The perspective you’ll find in this book provides some proven tools that helped one of Honeywell’s most talented and seasoned leaders work within our complex global operating environment to help Honeywell achieve these remarkable results.
"I heartily recommend this book to anyone who just wants to make things happen with less talk and a lot more action."
— Dave Cote, Chairman and CEO, Honeywell International, Inc.
